DJ Sandra Omari aka 'The Shutdown Sweetheart' is one of the hottest multi-genre DJ/Hosts on the London Scene. Playing everything from Hip-Hop, Bashment to Afrobeats; she shuts down every party as soon as she steps behind the decks or grabs a microphone.
Now a resident DJ at Boxpark, Supa Dupa Fly ('Best Hip Hop & RnB night in London'- Time Out Magazine), Classics Only (Paris) and more; she is also now an official Mix DJ for BBC Radio 1xtra.
Popular amongst artists/celebrities and brands; she has DJ'd for the likes of Tyler The Creator, Young Thug, Usain Bolt, Lotto Boyz and B-Young. Her corporate and brand bookings include Nike, Puma, HBO TV network (Insecure and Game Of Thrones), Wray & Nephew Rum, Red Bull and many more.
Creating experiences is an art
Phenomenally popular with a crowd, Emily has DJ’d for global brands from Chanel to Nike, alongside hosting and playing for celebrities including the Kardashians, Kanye West, Rita Ora and Jazzy Jeff. She also plays festivals including Lovebox and Wireless every year.
She launched Supa Dupa Fly in 2011 and the brand has gone on to become THE necessity in many 90s & noughties Hiphop, RnB & Garage lovers diaries, packing out every single weekly event.
Fiercely ambitious and supportive of women, Emily’s Rock The Belles collective brings together the hottest female DJs, bands & creatives for a genre-defying celebration of the females who are making their mark in music. Emily works as a mentor to many women in the music industry and regularly speaks at panel events, as well as often donating a proportion of event profits to her chosen charity Action Aid.
Emily has a monthly mix residency on BBC Radio.
